Becky Heron - Former Durham County Commissioner

Wendy does her homework. She was consistently one of the best prepared persons during her service on the Planning Commission, writing the most comprehensive comments for elected officials She read the materials, visited sites and she asked questions in order to be properly prepared.

She is very accessible to the public. She met with applicants and citizens before Planning Commission meetings. She responded to e-mails and telephone calls and thanked citizens for their involvement and concern.

Wendy listens to and considers all points of view on matters. She is open-minded and fair.

She will make thoughtful, reasoned decisions based on what she thinks is in the best interest of all Durham's citizens. Wendy also has an ability to see the big picture as well as pay attention to detail.

Wendy is a former teacher in the Durham Public School system and a parent of three children receiving an education from Durham Public Schools. Her experience as a teacher and parent gives Wendy firsthand knowledge of our school system.

She will be a good steward of the County’s limited financial resources and will be unafraid to make the tough decisions that will need to be made.
